Tailor made Tour Experience

A new way to discover Veneto, Venice and its Lagoon

Roman and Bizantine (or Carolingian?) Venice

A different geographical and historical approach to the lagoon of Venice and its origins

Itinerary

We will meet in Altino (VE) where we can leave our cars (free parking available). If you are staying in the historic center of Venice I can organize a private transport from your hotel. A super full day tailor-made tour experience!
I will show you the surrounding countryside introducing you to Roman Venice.A short walk will take us to the pier where we will start sailing along canals and the sandbanks of the northern Venetian lagoon..
The area is protected and fauna and flora are typical. Deep into the quiet landscape but listen to my commentary too :-)))!
Once in Torcello I will give you tips and free time to visit the wonderful Byzantine (or Carolingian?) Basilica or to walk around this almost deserted island and longed by VIP island.
Our second stop will then be Burano , the picturesque colorful island famous for its lace making : hopefully we’ll get lucky and see one of the last lace makers (the youngest is 65!) at work in a trusted atelier (beware of imitations!).
You will have free time for a quick lunch and to stroll in themonastic garden of San Michele in Mazzorbo, site of the recovery of theancient "Dorona" vine.
We will embark again towards the peaceful island of St. Francesco del Deserto where the five remaining friars will be happy to show us the cell of St Francis of Assisi, who stayed here on his way back from the Crusades.
It's time to go back, tired but satisfied: you can relax and admire a magnificent late afternoon lit lagoon..
